This Privacy Policy explains how Dunio collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Dunio Android app.
Dunio is a mobile-first app for shared household finance tracking. It uses Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication, and Cloud Firestore.
This Privacy Policy reflects the app's current behavior. Review it with legal counsel if needed before relying on it in production.

1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google, Dunio may collect and store:
- your Google account email address
- your name
- your profile photo URL
- your user ID
This information is used to authenticate you, restore your session, and associate you with a household.
Household and finance data
When you use the app, Dunio stores the information you or other household members enter, including:
- household name and household settings
- household currency
- member role information
- invites sent to join a household
- categories
- transactions, including date, description, amount, type, and category
- assets and liabilities, including monthly snapshots and history
- recurring transactions
- month close status
Because Dunio supports shared households, information entered in a household may be visible to other members of the same household.
Technical and usage data
Dunio uses Firebase services to operate. Firebase and Google may process technical data needed to provide authentication, database access, security, and infrastructure reliability, such as IP address, device and app identifiers, request metadata, and service logs.
Dunio does not currently include advertising SDKs in the Android app.

3. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information in the following limited ways:
With other household members
Dunio is a shared-household app. Data stored in a household is intended to be visible to members of that household according to the app's access model.
With service providers
Dunio relies on service providers such as Google Firebase to provide authentication, hosting, and database functionality.
For legal or safety reasons
We may disclose information if required by law or if reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the service.
4. Legal bases
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or a similar jurisdiction, we may process your information under one or more of the following legal bases:
- performance of a contract, to provide the app to you
- legitimate interests, such as keeping the service secure and improving reliability
- compliance with legal obligations
- consent, where consent is required
5. Data retention
We keep account and household data for as long as it is needed to operate the service, maintain shared household functionality, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
At this time, Dunio does not provide a fully self-service in-app account deletion flow.

If you are a member of a shared household, deleting data may affect other household members.
6. Security
We use Firebase Authentication, Firestore security rules, and reasonable technical measures intended to protect data. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by service providers such as Google. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights such as:
- access to your personal data
- correction of inaccurate data
- deletion of your data
- restriction of processing
- objection to certain processing
- data portability

9. Children's privacy
Dunio is not directed to children under 13, and where applicable not directed to
children below the minimum digital consent age in the relevant jurisdiction. If you

10. Third-party services
Dunio relies on third-party services including:
- Google Sign-In
- Firebase Authentication
- Cloud Firestore
Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice if required.
